I once read my job described this way and thought it fitting: I co-manage a Non-Profit Research Program in Child Development and Human Relations. I have a continuing program of research in the laboratory and in the field. Of course the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities and I often work 14 hours a day although 24 is possible. The job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the compensation is based in fringe benefits and performance based bonuses rather than salary.
It basically means that I am a stay-at-home mom and housewife with four kids. Saedi is our oldest, Gavin is a middle child, Solvei and Nels are the twins. I love being able to be at home and be a part of the kids’ day-to-day. I don’t make a very good housewife but I can sometimes pretend. The important thing is that my family knows they are taken care of and always loved. This blog is to help me better document the details.
